Five players from Nigeria’s U-17 team have been named among the best eleven at the recently concluded WAFU B U-17 tournament.
16-year-old left-back Emmanuel Michael impressed with three goal from freekicks, while forward Abdullahi Idris netted twice to help the team secure 100% win at the tournament.
Right-back Yahaya Lawali, Jeremiah Olaleke who played at center back as well as Goalkeeper Richard Odoh also made the list. The team’s coach, Nduka Ugbade was named as coach of the tournament.
Recall that the Golden Eaglets won all five games, beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final, and qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations billed for Algeria next year.
