Vandrezzer Football Club of Lagos have announced that Flying eagles star, Anas Hassan has seen his toe injury aggravate.
Anas is however doubtful for the game against Gateway United, following the aggravation of a toe injury picked up while in camp with the flying eagles.
After receiving medical attention, Hassan played in every Lions game since his return in early June. However, on Monday, he sprained his toe once more in training, which could cause Yemi Olanrewaju to leave him out of the pivotal match against Gateway.
Godwin Ekpo will has also suffered an injury and will miss today’s encounter.
The season-ending injury to captain Godwin Ekpo occurred during training last week and required surgery. The defender, who hasn’t played a significant role for the VFC this season after recovering from the hand injury he sustained last year, hasn’t trained with the team in nearly a week as he continues his recovery.
“Captain Ekpo has a ligament strain and out for the season. Anas too is complaining about a toe injury he got from the national team. However they are both receiving treatment and would soon be fine” said coach Olanrewaju.
“Almost anyone in the squad is in line to play, if someone is injured it’s an opportunity for another to step in and get the job done for the club. Not for me but for the club, they owe the club that pays their salaries the best and I’m happy they know. The rest of the squad is injury free and we’re good to go” he added.
