Abeokuta Stormers SC is a sports club situated in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. It was created in 2019 and its home ground is the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.
The club was formerly known as FC Nilayo, but the management decided to change its name to Abeokuta Stormers Sports Club (ASSC) which was due to laid down plans to constitute other sports teams in the future.
Owner/Chairman: Hon. Bukola Olopade. He is the MD/CEO, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, a sports management & marketing company, working with some of the biggest names in the world of sports like IAAF, CAA & AFN.
Olopade was Vice President, Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation and also became the president of the federation.
He was was Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun state on Youths and Sports between 2003 to 2005 before becoming the Commissioner in the same ministry.
