The football competition will take place from August 16 to August 21 while the award ceremony will take place the evening of the final.

Eight teams have been approved by the main organizing committee for the inaugural Western Nigeria Football Forum/Late Taiwo Ogunjobi U-15 Memorial Cup and Award Ceremony, which will take place in Osogbo.

The football competition will take place from August 16 to August 21 while the award ceremony will take place the evening of the final.

The champions of the NPFL/LaLiga U15 Future Champions football competition, Remo Stars FC, and the second-place finisher Katsina United FC will join the six teams to make up the participating teams in order to give the competition a national scope, according to Otunba Tade Azeez, Co-Chairman of the Main Organizing Committee.

The reason Katsina United FC was accepted to the competition is because Shooting Stars FC, the first runner-up, is already participating through the Oyo State team.

The Co-Chairman, Otunba Dele Ajayi, praised the efforts of the Western Nigeria Football Forum Coordinator and 1st Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Seyi Akinwumi, for the initiative and said that over time, the tournament will draw teams from abroad because the late Taiwo Ogunjobi is well-known internationally and should be given such honor.
