Chairman Local Organising Committee of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, Mr. Promise Uwaeme has assured football lovers of a well-organised event.
Responding to Newsmen in Gombe, the Chairman assured the Foundation, participants as well as the sports-loving people of Gombe South of his commitment to delivering a well-organised tournament with international best practices.
“I appreciate the Adamu Yola Ture Foundation for finding me worthy of chairing the affairs of this 7th edition of one of the biggest football tournaments in entire Northeast Nigeria, Uwaeme said.
“Alphabetically and realistically ‘7’ connotes perfection and we are determined to deliver a tournament that will surpass all the previous editions since the tourney came into existence. I am hopeful that all the stakeholders, including the fans, will enjoy the new innovations we intend to introduce this year”
“Consultations are ongoing and in the coming days, the rest of the committee and sub-committee members will be announced, and also the calendar will be made known publicly. We are in talks with every relevant stakeholder to ensure that, we stage a tournament that will not only discover, develop and create opportunities for the youths of Gombe South but also promote peace and unity through culture and football,” he said.
The Adamu Yola Ture Foundation sponsors the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup every year for local football clubs in the Gombe South Senatorial District.
