Nigeria’s Falconets have made a perfect progression to the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica after defeating Canada 3-1 in their last group match.
FC Robo youngster, Esther Onyenezide scored a brace in the game while Chioma Olise came on to complete the Falconets’ third win of the Mundial.
The Chris Danjuma-led girls are now billed to face Group D runners-up, Netherlands in the quarterfinals on Sunday following their triumph over the Canadians.
In the other game in Group C, France was 1-0 winners over South Korea to advance to the round of eight.
France finished the group stage in second place with six points, three points behind toppers, Nigeria. South Korea is third with three points, and Canada is fourth with no points from three games.
Esther is currently the second top scorer of the tournament with three goals from two games.
