Chairman of FC Robo Queens, Emanuel Osahon has expressed his delight in seeing Super Falcons player, Gift Monday move to UDG Tenerife.
The 2022 NWFL Champion signed a three year deal with the Spanish club earlier this week.
Osahon described Monday as a very hard-working and committed player who is ready to give her best for her new employers.
“It is good news for the family of FC Robo Queens and supporters to see one of our finest players move to Spain for her professional career. I have absolute confidence that Monday would not only shine in Tenerife but she would become a player that Spanish media and fans would pay attention to.
“She is my player and I know what she can do on the ball. Monday has hit her form and she is ready to wreak havoc in the Spanish league. On behalf of FC Robo Queens family, I congratulate her on the new signing,” he said.
He added that Monday’s move would encourage other players at the club to step up their play because FC Robo Queens has talented and marketable players who can advance in their football careers.
He acknowledged that he has been the club’s sole sponsor for more than ten years, but he also urged the Lagos State government, business entities, and other football stakeholders to invest in the team.
“I have four players including Monday currently playing in Spain and there are some players who are in various women’s national teams coming from FC Robo Queens. I am tired of sponsoring the club and I want state government and sports philanthropists to come and invest in the club so that more players can be discovered for the national teams in the nearest future,” he told Sports 247
