Rasheed Bamgbose

Head Coach of 96 Champions Football Club, Coach Rasheed Bamgbose will not forget his experience at Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enyimba FC.

Coach Rasheed spent a week understudying the technical crew of the Aba-based club and says it was an important and rewarding course for him.

He took to Twitter to express his feelings and thanked the former Super Eagles winger Finidi George and his technical staff for the hospitality.

“It was a mission to study how coaches at professional clubs prepare their team,” Coach Rasheed told Myleaguewire.

“I got a feel of how they think about the game and compared with what we do at our level. I’ve been able to understand what I’m doing right or what I can adjust or adapt to my ways of coaching the game.”

“This is one moment I will never forget in my life. All the coaches made my stay an interesting one. They even made me do stuff on the pitch and I’ll forever be grateful.”

Coach Rasheed believes that if other professional clubs could open their doors to young coaches, they will be able to impact more players at the grassroots level.

“Enyimba is truly an international football club, they have the structure and a very good culture. I felt so much at home within hours of arriving at the club. They did not look at where I was coming from but were very open to sharing knowledge. Coach Finidi and Yemi Olanrewaju accepted me and openly share lots of ideas with me, they both discuss a lot when they prepare their sessions and sometimes they get my opinions too and I asked both of them lots and lots of questions.”

“I would like other big profile coaches to allow young coaches understudy them to grow, there is no big deal in sharing ideas,” Coach Rasheed concluded.

He holds a CAF C License, Scottish FA C (UEFA C license) and he is hoping to obtain his UEFA B badge soonest. He joined 96 Champions Football Club in early 2022 playing in the Social Liga in Lagos.

Coach Rasheed Bamgbose was an Assistant Coach at MFM FC in 2021/2022 and coach at FCB Escola Lagos. He also did not dispel the roumours that he is being sought after by a number of clubs in the Nigeria National League.

He is also an assistant Coach at Asisat Oshoala Foundation.
