We are looking for someone to help lead the medical department.

Job Requirements

  • You LOVE football.
  • MBBS Qualification, and member of MDCN.
  • You have 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge in injury prevention methods and recovery strategies.
  • Excellent clinical skills with respect to history taking, clinical examination, appropriate investigation and referral for ongoing care when required.
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of human performance and how they relate to clinical sports medicine.
  • Recognized First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
  • Outstanding collaborative skills and can also execute efficiently on your own.

Responsibilities

As Team Doctor at Sporting Lagos, you will be responsible for making clinical and operational decisions on a daily basis at the club.

  1. Contribute to the strategy of the Sports Medicine and Science department.
  2. Manage the club’s medical department employees and consultants.
  3. Oversight of the screening processes.
  4. In conjunction with the Team Manager, assist with any drug testing requirements. 
  5. Maintain medical history, vaccination history and emergency contact details.
  6. Assess and administer all primary medical care.
  7. Establish and instigate an optimal treatment plan.
  8. Ensure club medicine stock is adequate for routine treatment.
  9. Record and administer all medical substances in accordance with UEFA, FIFA and NFF anti-doping procedures and remain up to date with CAF, FIFA Doping policy. 
  10. Maintain written injury and medical reports and submit all injury reports to the Head Coach and Team Manager.
  11. Set and maintain high standards of work performance and deliver quality consistently and efficiently.
  12. To follow the football schedule with the need to attend team trainings, briefings, provide Matchday cover and have occasional contact with players out of hours.
