Job Requirements
- You LOVE football.
- MBBS Qualification, and member of MDCN.
- You have 4+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge in injury prevention methods and recovery strategies.
- Excellent clinical skills with respect to history taking, clinical examination, appropriate investigation and referral for ongoing care when required.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of human performance and how they relate to clinical sports medicine.
- Recognized First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
- Outstanding collaborative skills and can also execute efficiently on your own.
Responsibilities
As Team Doctor at Sporting Lagos, you will be responsible for making clinical and operational decisions on a daily basis at the club.
- Contribute to the strategy of the Sports Medicine and Science department.
- Manage the club’s medical department employees and consultants.
- Oversight of the screening processes.
- In conjunction with the Team Manager, assist with any drug testing requirements.
- Maintain medical history, vaccination history and emergency contact details.
- Assess and administer all primary medical care.
- Establish and instigate an optimal treatment plan.
- Ensure club medicine stock is adequate for routine treatment.
- Record and administer all medical substances in accordance with UEFA, FIFA and NFF anti-doping procedures and remain up to date with CAF, FIFA Doping policy.
- Maintain written injury and medical reports and submit all injury reports to the Head Coach and Team Manager.
- Set and maintain high standards of work performance and deliver quality consistently and efficiently.
- To follow the football schedule with the need to attend team trainings, briefings, provide Matchday cover and have occasional contact with players out of hours.
