Atleast 150 teams will participate in the Moses Simon Unity Cup which starts on Friday in Benue State.
This tournament is one of the commitments that the Super Eagles winger Simon Moses made when he met with Samuel Ortom, the Governor of his home state, during his previous trip to Nigeria. He also met with Dame Eunice Ortom, the Governor’s wife.
According to the Nantes winger, the aim is to identify talents who would be given an opportunity at the rapidly expanding Simoiben Football Academy in Kaduna, owned and sponsored by the winger’s wife.
After the competition, a test match between selected players and the Simoiben Football Academy will take place. Also, each of the 150 teams will receive a ball for participating in the competition, and the top three teams will receive other presents like jerseys, bibs, and more.
The tournament will begin on Friday in Obagaji before the train travels to Apa and other areas. Furthermore, the Governor and his wife are anticipated to attend the final, which will be played in December at Makurdi’s Aper Aku Stadium.
