Sunshine Stars FC has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with the management of Moyero FC & Scouting Network.
Moyero FC, a privately owned team in Akure will be staging a four-day scouting tournament at the Ondo State Sports Complex from this Sunday, in collaboration with the Nigeria Professional League side.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Ondo State, Hon. Dele Ologun promised full support for the project, Sunshine Stars Media reports.
“The collaboration with Moyero is strategic; we are working on all fronts to generate revenue, he said.
“Our programmes at Sunshine Stars have been so systemic with the recruitment of young players, visibility and lot more. We will be providing logistic support to the Moyero group while we leverage on their already established international network to put our players before clubs abroad.
“The Moyero scouting tournament will be a great platform for us and other participating teams to showcase our players to scout and European clubs. Having such programme regularly here will make our darling state a hub for football business over time.”
The CEO of Moyero FC, Mr. Lanre Moyero posited that the partnership with Sunshine Stars is a way of getting Ondo state involved, and benefiting from their programmes before shedding more light on the scouting tournament at hand.
“It is really nice to get Sunshine Stars involved in our programmes through the visionary leadership of the Honourable Commissioner. We have been operating in the industry with great success for decades and I am sure things can only get better moving forward. We will all benefit greatly from this synergy.
“Next on our calendar is a scouting tournament starting this Sunday through Wednesday in Akure. A big-time European scout from Switzerland who has links to several clubs in Europe will be on ground. No fewer than seven teams from different part of Nigeria are storming Akure for this programme. I am confident it is going to be another gratifying outing for all involved.” Moyero said.
The Operational Chief of Moyero FC, Hon Akin Akinbobola explained that the collaboration with Sunshine Stars is part of the approach to expand their scope of business with the view of also giving back to the society.
“The brand is going bigger soon and it will not just be about football alone, other sports will be promoted for development and business purpose. Now we understand there is need to impact our people with our business and operation and it’s ideal we collaborate with Sunshine Stars first. The two time admnistrator of Sunshine Stars FC and former board member of the Nigeria Premier Football League board member said.
Akinbobola added: “Within the next two weeks another set of scouts shall be coming from a North African country for another programme and before the end of November players of sunshine stars and Moyero FC shall embark on an international training tour. Together we will look to achieve a lot of economic gain and sporting value.”
