Ahead of the new NPFL season, three outstanding players from the Kwara Football Academy has been promoted to the first team
Over the years, the exceptional youth programs of the Academy have helped these youngsters, Abubakar Garba, Godwin Oshagbemi, and Sunday Samuel, all develop.
While Garba and Godwin have both dominated the various football college ranks by taking home numerous honors from both inside and outside the United States, they have also each amassed over 100 goals in their respective records.
The pair, who were also a part of the historic side that won the YSFON National tournament, Ramat Cup in Kano back-to-back, have won over Kwara United’s technical staff, who have been keeping an eye on their progress.
With his up-front daredevil attitude and goal-scoring prowess, Sunday Samuel has also won the hearts of many over the years. The prodigy and his teammates will be hoping to advance their careers with the Harmony Boys in the upcoming season.
“The Head Coach of the team has requested for their services ahead of the new season. They are expected to resume to the training of Kwara United in a matter of days” a source at KFA said.
According to a Kwara United official who also requested anonymity stated that the team’s technical staff has kept track of the trio’s progress and Coach Azeez Muhammad has opted to include them in his plans for the upcoming campaign.
The trio will play with other Academy graduates like the high-flying striker Wasiu Jimoh, goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka, Issa Gata, Kabiru Balogun, and Ahmed Taofeeq.
