As the new season draws closer, Nigeria National League side Vandrezzer FC have announced the appointment of Ivorian coach Niambele Adama Mohamed as their new gaffer.
The 40-year-old replaces Henry Makinwa, who left his role towards the end of last season and becomes the second foreign coach to lead Vandrezzer FC after Brazilian Rafael Everton.
The club statement reads: “Vandrezzer Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Niambele Adama Mohamed as the club’s new Head Coach.
“The Ivorian who holds a UEFA B License from Dansk Boldspil-Union (Denmark), has joined the lions on a season-long contract that would see him lead the team in our new home in Akwa Ibom in the 2022/23 NNL season.”
The statement continued, “His appointment in Vandrezzer FC comes after a rigorous recruitment process that saw him oust several candidates interviewed for the same role as Head Coach.”
Niambele arrived in Uyo on Thursday, December 1, 2022, and says he is delighted with the opportunity to lead the club.
“I want to thank the Management of Vandrezzer FC for the trust reposed in me,” he told the club’s official website.
“I am excited to get the opportunity to lead such a big club and I look forward to winning titles with the club,” he said.
“As we prepare for the new season, we would work very hard to make the lion’s den a hard-hitting place for visiting teams as we play for maximum points,” he added.
Niambele is expected to join the team training on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
