Discussions are said to be in the concluding stages between Premier League side Brentford Football Club and representatives of Nigeria U20 star Benjamin Fredrick.
The 18-year-old Simoiben Academy product impressed at the Africa Youth Championship for Nigeria and has since been on the radar of many European clubs.
Owngoal reports that the young defender who can play both as centre-back and right-back had interests from Real Sociedad, Bayern Munich, and FC Porto but the English Premier League side took the discussion further.
Simoiben Futball Academy has also shared a tweet suggesting that they have a big announcement coming.
Fredrick joined ABS FC at the start of the 2021/2022 season in the Nigeria National League where he made his debut in February 2022. Later in October 2022, he was reported to have moved to premier division side Nasarawa United where he played at both centre-back and right-back positions.
