Charles Agada scored a hat-trick as Mavlon FC defeated high-scoring Fiorentina to qualify for the quarter-final of the ongoing Viareggio Cup in Italy.
Mavlon FC’s 2-3 win reset the team to winning ways to shake off the loss to Serie D Selection in their final group match.
Agada netted in the 20th, 40th and 47th minute to help the Nigerian boys book their slot in the last eight. He was named in Ladan Bosso’s 30-man list released last week to prosecute the All-African Games.
In other fixtures, Ojodu City smashed America’s Westchester United 5-0 with a hat-trick from striker Ibrahim Hafiz, and a goal each from Subair and Nlend to seal the victory for the Tigers.
Beyond Limits FA proved too hot for Italian side Avellino with a 3-1 win, while Alex Transfiguration beat Ukrainian boys Rukh Vynnyky to seal their slot in the last eight.
