The Nigeria National League said clubs will not be allowed to register new players for the Super 8 competition.
This was communicated to participating clubs during the live broadcast of the Super 8 draws.
During the draws, a representative of Sokoto United mentioned that the club were hoping to register a new set of players for the competition but the organisers responded by asking teams to field the same players.
The Chief Operating Officer of the league, Ayo Abdulrahman urged the teams to submit the squad list by the 22nd May 2024. He said the board expects that the names should consist of players who were already registered for the 2023/2024 season.
The NNL board also said that the gates will be opened to fans free of charge.
The fixtures for match day 1 are as follows:
El Kanemi vs Nasarawa United – 8AM
Sporting Supreme vs Sokoto United 11AM
Beyond Limits vs Madiba FC – 2PM
Ikorodu City FC vs Inter Lagos – 5PM
