The Creative Championship (TCC League) has announced a five-man shortlist for the Player of the Season award, with Gbagada FC dominating the nominations with three players.
Semiu Fagbayi, an attacking midfielder is a strong contender for the award, impressed with 13 goals in 22 appearances this season.
Fellow teammates, Segun Alfred, a right-back and Rilwan Gbadamosi who plays as a winger also received nominations, with Alfred scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 21 games, and Gbadamosi netting five goals and one assist in 22 matches.
However, Joshua Obakimi Dannaz FC striker is also a top contender, having scored an impressive 16 goals in 22 matches. Sporting Lagos FC’s Yusuf Abdullahi rounds out the list, finishing the season with 11 goals and four assists in 22 games.
Gbagada FC finished the league season on 9th position and a semi-final finish in the Cup.
The nominations have sparked debate among league followers, with some fans expressing surprise that Beyond Limits’ Kparobo Ariehri was not included on the shortlist.
