In a thrilling finale, Beyond Limits Football Academy secured their first-ever TCC Cup triumph, defeating Sporting Lagos Football Academy 6-5 in a nail-biting penalty shootout.
The Ikenne-based academy drew first blood through Kparobo Arierhi’s early strike in the 10th minute, but Yusuf Abdullahi swiftly equalized for the Lagos team in the 13th minute.
The crowd at the Remo Stars Stadium erupted in jubilation when Victory Iboro scored a stunning long-range goal, putting Beyond Limits ahead at halftime.
The Lagos team, however, came out strong in the second half, threatening the opposition and ultimately levelling the score with Yusuf Abdullahi’s second goal of the match.
With the score deadlocked, the match went to penalties, and Beyond Limits emerged victorious, winning 6-5 in the shootout.
This historic victory marks a milestone achievement for the young Sky Blues, capping off an exciting TCC Cup campaign.
