Sporting Lagos Football Academy has announced its U17 squad for the forthcoming Gothia Cup tournament in Sweden, marking the team’s debut in the prestigious competition.
Coach Shola Adegun’s team will compete in the Boys U17 category, starting on July 14th, 2024.
The Lagos-based side has been drawn into Group 5, with their inaugural match scheduled against Sweden’s IFK Norrkoping.
The team’s top goal scorer, Abdullahi Yusuf, made the list but the captain Adam Muktar did not make the cut. Muktar has been spotted with the seniors lately.
Other Nigerian teams participating in the tournament include Beyond Limits Football Academy, Tikitaka, and Nigerian Eagles will play in the U16 category.
