Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has launched a football academy named 29 Stars Academy in Nigeria.

Emenike said the academy was borne out of a desire to provide young Nigerians with opportunities to play abroad.

In a statement on the ex-Fenerbache marksman’s Instagram account, he emphasised Nigeria’s abundance of football talent and the need for collective efforts to nurture and develop these young players.

“My own personal journey in life has further strengthened our desire to give young Nigerian players who are hungry to play abroad. There is tremendous talent in Nigeria and we as football lovers must do our best to help develop these young talents. Our aim is to support the careers of young players and to make our mark in football with our passion for the game.”

He also said several clubs have shown interest in collaborating with the academy to achieve this goal.

“In the meantime, we would like to thank the clubs who have already shown their positive approach and support. We are grateful to everyone who has reached out to us..”
