German Bundesliga giants TSG 1899 Hoffenheim FC have completed the transfer of Grassrunners FC’s highly touted youngsters, Emmanuel Chukwu and Precious Benjamin.

Both 18-year-old players impressed during their trials with Hoffenheim last year, earning their spot on the team.

Myleaguewire understands that the centre-back and forward duo had also attracted interest from Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz before opting for the German club.

Grassrunners FC CEO Gbenga Victor Agbejoye told SportsDay that the transfer is a landmark move and a testament to the players’ hard work and dedication.

“Two of our players, Emmanuel Chukwu and Precious Benjamin has completed their top move to Hoffenheim FC of Germany.

“This is indeed a wonderful way to begin the New Year and we are really very excited about this at Grassrunners.”

“We may be less than a year as a football club in Nigeria, but we are determined to change the dynamics as regards transfers of young talents in the country.”

“Nigeria is blessed with abundant young, gifted and talented footballers which deserves only the best teams in Europe and not a situation where they are taken to some obscure leagues.”

Recall that the club recently completed the signing of 22-year-old Nigerian forward Gift Orban from Lyon

Orban joined Lyon 12 months ago for $14.5 million but has now been sold for approximately $9.5 million.
