Lagos-based Ojodu City Football Club has commenced a two-month close camping program in neighboring Ogun State, as they gear up for the prestigious Viareggio Cup in Italy.

The team is seeking to build on last year’s semi-final appearance, where they narrowly lost to Beyond Limits Football Academy.

Head Coach Ogunbanjo Olawale Razak emphasized the importance of this training camp, stating, “This period will allow us to address our weaknesses, enhance team dynamics, and make a stronger impact at the tournament.”

Team captain Magaji Lukman expressed his gratitude for the support received last year and enthusiasm for the upcoming training.

The intensive camping program will include a series of friendly matches and specialised training designed to prepare the team for the Viareggio Cup.

Hafiz Umar Ibrahim, Ojodu City’s talisman at the last tournament won the top scorer award and has since signed for French Ligue 1 club State Reims FC in France where he is currently developing with the U19s.
