Norwegian club Vålerenga has signed 17-year-old Nigerian prodigy Promise Meliga from Beyond Limits Academy.
Meliga impressed the club’s coaching staff during a week-long trial, leading to a long-term contract until 2029.
The talented youngster, who currently plays in Nigeria, will join Vålerenga officially on his 18th birthday, August 21st, 2025.
Vålerenga’s sports director praised Meliga’s skills, noting that he will have ample time to develop at a reasonable pace.
Meliga’s connection to Vålerenga runs deep, as he has been mentored by former player Chidera Ejuke. Meliga often stays with Ejuke during his vacations in Nigeria.
Before permanently moving to Oslo in June, Meliga will join Vålerenga’s trip to Marbella and then return to Nigeria for a few months. He expressed his excitement about joining the club, saying, “I’m incredibly happy to get this opportunity with Vålerenga, and I’m already enjoying myself. It’s a dream come true.”
