The official numbers of the 2021/2022 Lek Schools League which saw Brightville College Ibadan and Government College Lagos emerge champions in their respective Conferences have been released.
The competition had two conferences namely; Lagos Mainland Conference and Ibadan Conference.
Each conference had eight schools/colleges as participants.
Government College, Eko Boys High school, Birch Freeman High School, Eric Moore High School, Igbobi College, and International School Lagos all participated in the Lagos Mainland Conference.
After 14 rounds of games, Government College Lagos was declared champions following their close-to-perfect run of 13 wins in 14 league games.
The Lagos Mainland Conference had 200 secondary school players who played 56 matches.
The conference produced 140 goals and 35 scorers. There were also 40 clean sheets.
At the Ibadan Conference, Brightville College, Command Day Secondary School, Ibadan Grammar School, Adem Secondary School, Government College Ibadan, Abadina College, Kings Int’l, and Gofamint High School all took part.
Brightville College emerged winners of this conference after winning 16 out of their 21 games.
The Ibadan Conference had 220 secondary school players who played 84 matches.
The conference produced 193 goals and 57 scorers. There were also 74 clean sheets.

The Leks Schools League is an initiative of Leks Sports NG established to create a unifying platform for secondary school students in different states to participate in football competitions. Each state is divided into conferences with outstanding athletes competing at an end of season playoffs. The league season runs according to the academic calendar of schools, providing the athletes the opportunity to balance sports and education.
