The management of Rangers International F.C. has gifted match balls to Enugu State League side, F.C Inter.
The General Manager the Nigeria Professional Football League side Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, said the gesture was to aimed at encouraging the grassroots teams in the state in their developmental strides.
Barrister Amobi promised that the Rangers Foundation intends to support grassroots clubs within the state.
“We know that clubs need cones, beeps, and other equipment but the Rangers Foundation is starting with the donation of match balls and gradually, we move on towards getting others to F.C Inter and other grassroots clubs in the state. This gesture is to appreciate and encourage the team in its developmental strides not only in Enugu but in the South-East and Nigeria in general.”
He further said, “F.C. Inter is one of the clubs that have produced some of our great players like Obinna Nwobodo, Emeka Eze, and many others like myself. We are glad that F.C. Inter is the first recipient of this kind of support from Rangers. We are not stopping here as we will reach across to other clubs in Enugu.”
In his response after receiving the balls, the coach of F.C Inter, Joseph Inya, thanked Rangers for the gift which he acknowledges will to a very large extent, help the club in realising its target of producing more football talents in the state.
He said: “I must not fail to show my gratitude and appreciation to the Rangers Foundation for finding us worthy of this gift. I must state that since 2008 when F.C Inter was formed, we have been supplying footballers to Rangers and they have always excelled. On behalf of the founder of the club, Francis Yawe, the players, and officials, we thank Rangers for this show of love.”
The event was witnessed by top management staff of Rangers including the head of finance, administrative secretary, head of legal, and others.
