The Media Officer of Nigeria U17 national team Francis Achi has dismissed reports that half of the squad failed MRI test.
The team is currently in Abuja preparing for the U17 WAFU Zone B championship and are due to submit the team list to organisers on Monday 6th May 2024.
Achi labelled the story fake news and assured that the team is intact.
“The news that first team members of Golden Eaglets failed MRI test is FAKE NEWS,” he said on X.
“The team is intact.”
The Golden Eaglets have been drawn in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, Niger and Togo Republic.
They take on Burkina Faso in their opening match on May 16th before taking on Niger three days later and then Togo on May 22 2024.
Myleaguewire understands that the team will arrive Remo Stars facility in Ikenne, Ogun State on Tuesday May 7th 2024 to continue their preparations before jetting out for the tournament in Ghana.
