Sporting Lagos defeated Beyond Limits 5-4 at the SKF Arena stadium to secure their spot in the final of the 48th Gothia Cup tournament in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This marks the first time Sporting Lagos has reached a major tournament final in their history.
Coach Shola Adegun and his team will face off against Japanese side FC Tokyo with both teams boasting an unbeaten record in the tournament.
The Japanese boys edged Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna 3-2 in the other semi final clash to seal a final slot with Nigeria’s Sporting Lagos. Tokyo FC also boasts of an impressive scoring record having netted time times and conceding just three.
Sporting Lagos will be their first African opponent in the tournament.
The final promises to be an electrifying encounter, and Sporting Lagos will be looking to capitalise on their momentum to claim the championship title. The match will be played inside Gamla Ullevi stadium, Gothenburg at 2pm WAT.
