Nigerian youngster Joshua Obakimi has joined Egyptian club Baladiyat El Mahalla SC from Dannaz FC.
Dannaz FC confirmed in a statement on Instagram that the player has made the switch to the second division club.
Obakimi made a significant impact last season, scoring 16 goals, the highest in the club’s history.
His impressive performance earned him a spot in the TCC Team of the Season and a nomination for Player of the Season.
Obakimi missed Dannaz’s first match of the new season, a 4-0 loss to Sporting Lagos Academy.
Last season, he recorded 22 appearances, 41 shots on target, 43 completed dribbles, and 17 key passes, helping his team finish 10th with 20 points.
Baladiyat El Mahalla SC were relegated from the Premier League and would begin their campaign in the second division next week Monday as they go away to El Dakleya.
