The competition will feature teams from five Local Government Areas (Ilorin East, South, West Ifelodun, and Asa) of Kwara State.

Organizers of the Kwara U-12 YEG League, The League Board have revealed the commencement date for the league’s inaugural season.

The foundational league will begin on Saturday, July 23, 2022, with twelve grass-roots teams already registered, according to the organizer. 

The Kwara U-12 YEG League advocates for appropriate grassroots development and makes a concerted effort to help children’s football growth.

Chief Operating Officer of the League Board, Ibrahim Jatto, said that the essence of the league is to aid the development of football in Kwara State. 

He added that the league would do more than just plan a one-time competition; it would expose and prepare the young players for the challenges experienced by professional football players.

Jubril Usman, the president of Young Elite Group (YEG), complimented the league board, which is in charge of administering the league on a daily basis, for its suggestions and work during the registration and screening processes.

However, he asked all participating teams to act professionally and adhere to the league’s rules

The Kwara Football Academy pitch will host the tournament from start to finish.
