Saki United Coach, Iwalewa Qoseem said his team will show some respect to their opponents Katsina United when they trade tackles in the round of 64 knock out phase of the Aiteo Cup.
Walcott as he is fondly called, said reckoned with fact that the team recently got relegated from the Nigeria Professional League and stated that his boys will accord respect but will not be carried away.
The match is billed to kickoff at exactly 2pm today at the Minna township stadium.
“When it comes to Nigeria Professional Football League, Katsina United are no small team,” Qoseem told Oyo Sports news.
“Though they just got relegated, but a professional league club in Nigeria is not push over. I’ve told them to concentrate, follow all technical instructions, put in their best, pay attention to all areas that needed adjustment.
“We are going into this particular match with more confidence and determination. I believe, with God our side and having done all necessary things, God will make it a sweet day.”
The Asabari warriors were through to the round of 64 following a victory over Sokoto Professionals 2-0 last Monday with Owoade Emmanuel grabbing a brace at the 27th and 35th minutes.
Coincidentally, Saki United will again battle Katsina United under Coach Usman Abdallah at the same Minna township stadium, a familiar ground where they’ve played two matches. First was against Sokoto Professionals and a friendly match against Soccer Talents where they thrashed the Minna based side 6-1.
Another Oyo representative at the Aiteo Cup, Oyo State Housing Corporation FC yesterday qualifed to the round of 32 with 4-2 win over Jigawa Golden Stars. A hat-trick from Ogungbade Faruk and Akinlabi Oladimeji gave the Ibadan based team the much needed win.
