UNNICH Sports Club graduate, Flourish Sabastine scored the game’s lone goal late in the second half to give Nigeria the three points.
The Falconets’ next match is against South Korea on Sunday, where a win will seal their passage to the next round.
From the moment the whistle blew, both teams threatened each other with offensive maneuvers, but the goalkeepers made important stops.
The first half came to a close without a team breaking the deadlock.
In the 81st minute, France had the ball in the back of the net, but VAR chopped it off. Due to a foul on the Falconets goalkeeper, the goal was disallowed.
The Falconets went ahead in the 85th minute thanks to Flourish Sabastine, who utilized a through ball from Idoko by putting the ball past the French goalkeeper.
