At least 75 Teams will partake in the 7th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup after the conclusion of the draws.

The tournament’s preliminary rounds will take place in Biliri, Balanga, Shongom, and Kaltungo areas in Gombe State.

The organizers initially announced the date for the draw, which took place at the Mawato Hotel Hall in Kaltungo of Gombe state, on Saturday 29th of October,2022

All the participating teams and football stakeholders were in attendance for this event.

Chairman LOC, Promise Uwaeme, in his address, reiterated the organizers’ commitment to ensuring that they host a competition that will meet global standards.

“As you are aware, we are committed to delivering a tournament that will compete favorably with other football tournaments globally in terms of fair play, transparency, and set standards even with the limited resources within our disposal. So, on behalf of myself and the entire Local Organizing Committee, I assure you of that commitment.”

“This will simply be the best Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup ever witnessed! The greatest football tournament in the state and region at large “, Uwaeme said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commissioner for Education Gombe state, Hon. Batari Dauda Zambuk, represented by Audu Maina, Director School Sports, Min. of Education, Gombe state, Commended the founders, initiators, and organizers of the competition as they have been able to contribute to the uplifting of the level of football in Gombe South.

He expressed delight that the competition has also taken a lot of youths off the streets by engaging them in football and preparing them almost all year round.

Furthermore, he welcomed all, wished them the best, urged the teams involved, and encouraged them to play to the rules of the competition.

In his closing remarks, Gombe State FA Chairman, Yakubu Sarma, who was represented by Shuaibu Simon, Member of Gombe FA, appreciated the organizers’ efforts and encouraged them to keep improving and doing more.

He urged the participating teams, officials, and all involved to play by the rules of the competition as all attention moved to Gombe South.
