Ilaji FC lift FA Cup via Dailypost
Third-division side Ilaji FC defeated Shooting Stars FC to win the 2024 Oyo State FA Cup.
Ilaji ended the Oluyole Warrior’s four-year FA Cup back-to-back reign winning 5-4 on penalties following a 3-3 draw at regulation time.
Shooting Stars trailed 1-2 in the first half with Babalola Okikiola netting a double for the NLO side.
Ilaji failed to maintain their lead in the second stanza as Coach Gbenga Ogunbote boys equalised through Captain Taofeeq Malomo. Babalola Okikiola made it a hat-trick in the 65th minute before Ayobami Junior equalised to send the match to a penalty shoot-out after regulation time.
Shooting Stars will focus on their NPFL campaign where they currently lie 8th on the log with 40 points.
