Unicorns FC owned by Nigerian Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi and his brother Victor, has secured a historic four-year sponsorship deal with the Kwara Kiddies YEG League.

The agreement formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Ilorin, marks a significant milestone in the development of grassroots football in Nigeria.

The Kwara Kiddies YEG League, now in its third season, aims to nurture young talents and produce future football stars through a comprehensive five-year developmental plan. The league utilises data analysis and performance tracking to promote players and teams, leveraging media and digital platforms to reach a broader audience.

By focusing on player progression from U-12 to U-17 categories, the league provides a competitive environment for young footballers to enhance their skills and maximize their potential. Taiwo Awoniyi’s involvement is expected to inspire young players, who admire him as a role model, to pursue their dreams.

Ibrahim Jatto, COO of the Kwara Kiddies YEG League, hailed the sponsorship as a watershed moment in Nigerian grassroots football development, transforming the league and providing a valuable platform for young players to achieve their goals.

“The league has not only found a worthy partner and sponsor in Taiwo Awoniyi but also a valuable asset that will bring about transformation to the league and give all kids the needed jump, he said.”
