Tobi confirmed that the ValuJet Preseason tournament is the best way for local clubs to prepare for the new season.

The Head of Communications for ValueJet Cup, Mr. Tobi Adepoju, has revealed that the ultimate idea is to model the tournament after Emirates Cup.

ValueJet Cup is one of Nigeria’s foremost preseason competitions featuring professional football league clubs.

Tobi noted that the team’s aim is to develop a fresh identity that will inspire partnerships with sponsors. He cited the Emirates Cup as evidence for his conviction that the ValueJet will eventually reach such stature.

“We witnessed this year’s Emirates Cup in London and that is the level we want to be in years to come. We are learning from several branded preseason tournaments across the country’s spectrum and our target is to build this new identity to a top level.”

Tobi confirmed that the ValuJet Preseason tournament is the best way for local clubs to prepare for the new season.

“Apart from creating the best environment for domestic clubs to prepare for their new season, we want to create a culture out of this new identity as we are excited about the prospects with ValueJet Airline.”

The competition will be flagged off today with the official draws scheduled for 3pm.

The inaugural edition of the ValueJet will feature winners of the top-flight league, Rivers United, Plateau United, Remo Stars, Shooting Stars, Vandrezzer FC, and a host of others.
