Sporting Lagos Football Club has become the 12th team to join The Creative Championship (TCC League).

The CEO of Sporting, Shola Akinlade confirmed that the club has set up a youth team to help discover and nurture the next generation of football talents in the country.

Shola said that the process will begin with the U19 team participating in the 2022/2023 Creative Championship season because it is one of the most competitive youth leagues in Nigeria.

“We are excited to be a part of the group of people who are developing and creating opportunities for the next generation of football talent in Nigeria,” Shola said in a statement published by TCC.

The Lagos-based club played in the second division, the Nigeria National League (NNL), with hopes of gaining promotion to the top tier but finished tenth on the log.

Beyond Limits FC, Gbagada FC, and Imperial Football Club are among the participants playing in the Creative Championship league.
