The penalty shoot-out in the Ogun State FA Cup final between Remo Stars and Ijebu United has attracted global attention.
The match ended in a draw after normal time and advanced into penalties where the drama unfolded.
Remo Stars currently play in the Nigeria Professional League and are gunning for a place in the top three while Ijebu United play in the Nation’s second tier know as the Nigeria National League.
If this isn’t Match Fixing, then I don’t know what it is.

In another video shared on Twitter, one fan expressed his disappointment in the Nigeria Professional League side, Remo Stars stating that the expectation was for the game to proceed to extra-time rather than penalty shoot-out.
Absolutely shamble from remo star fc at the ogun state fa cup final against ijebu United at otunba dipo stadium. This happens as the fa says there is no extra time after playing goalless draw at full time. Instead of forfeiting the match they decided to be playing the penalty out pic.twitter.com/okKV2GxzbT

Although there are reports suggesting that the players were deliberate with their kicks to express their dissatisfaction with the officiating. The Nigerian journalist who first shared the video updated his tweet.
I found out that Remo stars players deliberately threw away their first 3 spot kicks and their Goalkeeper also remained motionless when the opponents took theirs as a MARK OF PROTEST for the unfair officiating in the game.
