Speaking to SSI Media after the painful loss, Igala United FC’s gaffer, Jerry Joko, said:

“It was a very tough encounter. After the first leg of which we won 1-0, we knew the second leg would be very tough because this Jazzy Stars team is good. You know in football we will say the better side won.

“Alot of time when you loose, you go back to the drawing board and make sure you work on where and areas that you have problems. We believe that next year we will get more younger boys than what we have now.”

Head Coach of Jazzy Stars FC, Caleb Theophilus, after the encounter heaped praises on Igala United and also revealed that he’s delighted with the performance of his young:

“I must start by commending our opponents, Igala United fc for giving us a real fight at the final. We knew fully well it wasn’t going to be easy playing against more experienced sides in this league, especially this very compact Igala United side that missed promotion by whisker, loosing out on promotion with only one point last season. We had to work extra hard before coming here, prepared my very good young boys like never before knowing fully well this huge task at hand in this Division 3 league in Abuja.

“I’m just very lucky to head the technical department of a team with an organized and result oriented management, a supportive assistant coach, Coach Isreal and very young exciting crop of players ready to give their hearts out. It’s a very hard and rough route with hard work before we emerged champions here. Our tactics and preparation were top notch and the lines just fell in pleasant places for us.

“Our target is to take the next league as they come. We need go back home now and prepare for division 2 next season. Our target is to compete with the best clubs at the elite league in Nigeria.” He told SSI MEDIA
